Chairman and Co-Founder, National Securities Exchange of Somalia (NSES)
Mohamed Abukar provides strategic leadership and governance oversight at NSES. He holds a Bachelor's in Management Studies and a Master's in International Relations from the University of Leicester (UK). He is a Certified Global Compliance Expert with CAMS and GSS from ACAMS. His expertise includes compliance, risk management, strategy, and governance.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NSES
Mr. Yasin is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Securities Exchange of Somalia (NESS) and a former CEO of the Somali Bankers Association (SBA). He is an economist and financial expert and holds a master's and bachelor degree in Economics from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and Mogadishu University respectively. He is also a professional accountant and a member of the professional body of accountants – Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Mr. Yasin is a researcher on Economics and Finance and is much interested in the Islamic contemporary economics. He has an experience of more than 15 years working with both Public and Private sector institutions and has extensive first-hand experience in the state building process of Somalia and the role of private sector development. Mr. Yasin is a guest lecturer at different universities in Mogadishu.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bulsho SACCO Limited
Abdikadir is a seasoned banker with experience in banking and telecommunications. His past roles include: Head of Corporate, SME & Retail at MyBank; Marketing and Sales Manager at Premier Bank; Communications Manager at NationLink Telecom. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Simad University and a postgraduate diploma from the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions.
Principal Researcher, SIMAD University
Dr. Nor holds a Ph.D. in International Finance from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He served as Deputy Rector for Academics at SIMAD University and held government roles including Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office. He currently serves in the Southwest Government of Somalia. He has 30+ peer-reviewed publications and is a member of: Royal Economic Society, American Economic Association, American Finance Association.
Senior Consultant in Financial Markets
John brings 28 years of experience in capital markets, with expertise in automation, policy, and integration of financial systems. Key achievements include: Automating the Nairobi Securities Exchange; Integrating NSE and Central Bank's CSD; Implementing ATS for Rwanda Stock Exchange; Supporting regional integration in SADC and EAC; Trainer at ICIFA. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor's in Commerce from the University of Nairobi, is a PRINCE II Project Manager, and studies Public Policy Management at Strathmore University.

With over 20 years of experience, Haraf has worked in academic, public, and private financial sectors. He is: Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA), CMA finalist. He has held roles including Chief Internal Auditor and Deputy Chief Strategy Officer, and is an advocate for Islamic finance. He teaches at universities and has mentored many in accounting, management, and leadership.
